Uttarakhand State Ophthalmological Society (UKSOS) was formed in the year 2004 with the dream to bring all Ophthalmologists, from the newly formed state of Uttarakhand, together on a common platform.

Owing to collective efforts of the UKSOS Team, First annual conference of the UKSOS was held in 2004 at Hotel Pacific Dehradun, from 2nd to 3rd October, 2004. Dr. R.P. Garg and Dr. Vinod Arora installed first President of UKSOS to Dr. M.C. Luthra and General Secretary to Dr. B.K. Oli.
